A stroll through our fantastic Florence!

In the video where we are going to show you the beauty of our town, we will have the pleasure to be lead by Dante Alighieri, the great poet, who was born and lived in Florence, author of literary masterpieces such as the Divine Comedy. Why did we choose him as a tourist guide? We think that no one better than Dante can help us appreciate the wonders of Florence. He will show us how Florence can seem to be small on a map, but absolutely great if you walk though its streets and stand in front of its monuments. At the beginning of the video the complete itinerary will be shown on a map of Florence. Then, we will move around the centre of the town to let you know the main streets, monuments and squares through the technical device of the “street view”. The starting point of our stroll will be the Statue of Dante, in Piazza Santa Croce. From there we are going to walk to Palazzo Pitti and go past Giotto’s Belltower, the Uffizi, Palazzo Vecchio, Piazza della Signoria, Piazza della Repubblica, the Dome, the Baptistery, the Church of Santa Maria Novella and the House of Dante. After that we will keep on walking along the Corridoio Vasariano and cross the Ponte Vecchio in order to reach Piazzale Michelangelo. At the end of the walking tour each student will express his/her own opinion about Florence with a sentence, a quote or a simple adjective and the video will end showing a “time lapse” of the view from Piazzale Michelangelo.
