We have chosen to start our tour from one of the most charming places of Campobasso: the refined, eighteenth century Villa De Capoa which meets the neoclassic aesthetic canons and is a proof of the urban transformation of the town in that period. It's a real gem in the city centre. Then we'll guide you to discover the historic city centre with its ancient buildings and churches, the stone staircases, the wonderful Samnites Museum that holds thousands of years of fascinating history, the striking Monforte Castle, symbol of our town. It is the old town that becomes a great attraction for lots of tourists on Corpus Domini Day, as you can see in the video, great manifestation of religious folk culture of Campobasso. During this festivity thirteen huge, ancient floats made in 1748 with special steel and wooden mechanisms, which support group of children, young and old representing the sacred Misteries, are carried by hand along the narrow streets of old town till the city centre.
